Unboring High Velocity Outlet Covers

Design Comes to High Velocity HVAC

For all its benefits, high velocity hvac is pretty utilitarian-looking. That can get boring quickly. But we’re here to tell you that it doesn't have to be that way. Your high velocity outlet covers can be much more than just part of the functionality of the house. They can contribute to the design too!

What Is High Velocity HVAC?

Just in case you’re new to high velocity HVAC, we thought we’d take a moment to tell you a bit about the basics of these systems.

You’re already familiar with HVAC that uses a compressor installed outside your home to create hot and cold air. That air is then pushed into the home through a system of ducts and vents. High velocity uses the same system but without those big ducts.

High velocity systems use flexible tubing installed inside the walls to transport air around the home. Because the tubing is smaller than a duct, the air flow moves at a higher velocity than in traditional systems. It heats and cools faster and more efficiently than other HVAC systems. It decreases your energy usage (and costs) too.

At the end of the tubing, the vents look very different from the rectangular registers you’re used to seeing. They are smaller, round, and push the air out with noticeable force.

Avoid the Plastic High Velocity Outlet Covers

Most systems come with basic outlet covers that are anything but interesting. You don’t have to use these. You have options, options that are far better looking and more durable. Here’s the rundown.

Materials & Colors

Choose from brass, aluminum, or wood for your outlet covers. Each is much more durable than the plastic covers that came with your system. They also add a measure of style far beyond plain plastic.

Wood options include finished and unfinished Red Oak that can be stained to match your tastes or existing wood floor.

Aluminum options come in black, gray, oil-rubbed bronze, white, silver, and gold. They are excellent for placement anywhere from the ceiling to the floor.

Nothing beats the gleam of solid brass and its durability is excellent. It is also appropriate for any application including the floor.

Openings

High velocity HVAC covers come with two different openings: grille and open style. Every cover includes our exclusive hole-guard, which sits back inside the cover so it doesn’t show but still gives you the protection you need to keep debris out.. Otherwise, the grille style is covered with slats and open style has no cover in addition to the interior guard.

Installation

Our outlet covers come with an adapter that slides into any 2” duct system to ensure the cover fits snugly with no leakage.

We offer covers that can be attached to the wall, ceiling or floor with screws, or opt for the flush-mounted installation (in wood only).

Flush mount comes with a square of material that fits around the outlet cover so it can mount level with the surrounding floor.

With so many stylistic options, your high velocity outlet covers don’t have to be boring. They can become a part of the design or even stand out in the design.
