What Made This Project Special

The staircase in this vast space is highly visible. When the fabricator found there was nothing to be done about the location of the vent, designer Letitia Holloway knew exactly what to do: make it the center of attention.

“The details really mattered for my hip clients, so going with a designer register on the staircase was a no-brainer,” said Holloway. “I always use Reggio Registers in the homes I design; often they are the most impactful elements in a custom home.”

Deciding on a Register Cover

The contemporary style of this house called for the gridlines of the Square register design. The white color was meant to be a “subtle nod to perfection” that blends the entire design together. Holloway matched the wall color but painted the interior of the duct black to reflect the space’s white with black accents theme.

The register “presents itself as a piece of art or architectural detail” in a space where it could easily be an item void of consideration. It “elevates the interior,” says Holloway.
