"I have purchased Regio Register register registers before in wood YEARS ago Loved those. They have held up really well and don’t show much traffic and believe me they get traffic. The dark spots in the picture are just different grain that absorbed the stain differently. These came in unfinished wood. So I stained them myself and then use a pretty tough polyurethane over . Tried the white metal on white and gray tile. I really like these, but I did not pay the extra to have the edges beveled. Recently I purchased matte blackfor the same wood floor in a different area. Loved these too!! About to replace the 2 wooden ones with the same black metal ones I purchased recently. If you choose the metal registers to use in a high traffic area, have the edges beveled. I am so glad I paid extra because it makes a huge difference on bare feet… especially for young children who may be running."
