Q: For the winning photo, what project was this for?
A: The project is of a center hall in a 1950’s bungalow in Leipers Fork, TN. We added shiplap walls and a new oak staircase with custom metal rails. Inside the walls, my husband and I found old newspapers dated back to 1938—they used newspapers to insulate back in the day. We were giddy over the history we found in the walls when we got down to the studs. It made us wonder what year our house was actually built! After we opened up the wall, a local wood company came in and measured the poplar French door. The Reggio Register grille brings the whole space together—everyone asks about it!
Q: When in the design process did you decide to upgrade the HVAC grille?
A: My mom got me hooked on Reggio Register grilles, she has them in all of her spaces. So now, I do the same. This is our 4th remodel, and with my style and age of the homes, I think they are the perfect fit. They are classic and timeless and the prettiest registers on the market. So when we started this project, I knew it would be a perfect fit for the center hall.
Q: Why did you choose the Reggio Register Scroll design?
A: I’m a creature of habit and tend to stick with the same style. These were the original ones I saw at my mom’s house and ended up buying them for my first house like 10 years ago, so I just stuck with it. My go to is Black for floors and returns, and white for walls or ceiling but always the Scroll grille design!
Q: How does a Reggio Register grille contribute to the overall design aesthetic of a space?
This Reggio Register completes the space, and looks like it belongs there. It’s aesthetically pleasing and looks perfect in this space. When I bought this house, I couldn’t wait until the remodel construction was complete so I could add this pretty thing.
Q: Do you have any tips for someone wanting to upgrade/install a grille with Reggio Register?
A: You won’t regret it! Everyone will ask where you got it. They are superior quality, customer service is unmatched and the style will change the look of your space! Worth every penny. They’ll last a lifetime and never go out of style.
